Derek earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Iowa State University. He enjoys working on his cars, snowboarding and camping. Derek has a passion for aviation and one-day wants to get his private pilot’s license to help navigate weekend getaways.

Responsibilities

Derek O’Flaherty currently works in the Property and Asset Management Group. He plays a pivotal role within the Frauenshuh and client managed portfolio including property management, tenant relations, financial reporting, budgeting, project management and involvement in leasing and marketing.

Experience

Derek joined Frauenshuh in 2023, where he manages a mixed portfolio of retail and office buildings in the Edina/Bloomington market. He oversees all day-to-day operations of the buildings and is responsible for the creation and presentation of the financial reporting for each entity. Prior to Frauenshuh, Derek worked as a Property Manager, where he also managed a portfolio of office and retail buildings in the metropolitan area. Derek spent time working in corporate finance as a Financial Analyst before starting in Property Management, which has helped immerse him in the financial aspect of Property Management.
